Hand in hand, that was how they liked it. After centuries of loneliness, decades of memories and experiences best forgotten, they were happy just to have some form of contact with each other. Even something as simple as the friction between two sets of fingers filled the pair with such a level of comfort and euphoria that they felt embarrassed to discuss it, despite the almost desperate bond that they shared. Still, casual glances carried enough weight for the pair to understand that the feelings were at least somewhat mutual. They couldn't even remember where they had just been, only the passing glances, the intertwining of fingers, and the stolen kisses. The night had been, for lack of a better term, perfect. Something that the King of Dragons and Queen of Ice were more than willing to get used to.

That was, until the tranquil stars above them began to fade into the dull gray of storm clouds. The Ice Queen's smile dipped slightly, having enjoyed the picturesque view, but brightened when she felt the strong, calloused hand of her lover grip hers tighter. She looked up to flash him a pearly smile, but stopped when she noticed the look of panic crossing his draconic face. She placed her free hand on his shoulder demurely, giving him a pleading look tempered with concern, wondering what could possibly be putting her gallant knight on edge. He responded, a strained smile on his face, "Don't worry, My Queen, everything is fine…." It was comforting, but his quickened pace betrayed him. She opened her mouth to respond, but was cut short by a massive clap of thunder.

"Damn!" The dragon king quickly scanned the skies, desperately trying to control the jolt of fear that was traversing his spine. He supposed his exclamation didn't particularly help things (especially his lover's concern), but he was only a mortal…..more or less. Besides, if his hunch was right, his fear was beyond well-based.  For what he wished he could consider the first time, he wished, no, prayed that he was wrong. A nearby bolt of lightning shattered his hopes, and as he watched a cloud slowly decent from the larger mass, he gripped his lover's hand even tighter, momentarily forgetting how far his physical strength surpassed hers, almost crushing it.
-
For all intensive purposes, Tic should've enjoyed the Dragon King's reaction. Watching him desperately try to control the panic his thunder caused would have normally made Tic grin. Watching him jump out of his skin would normally have made him laugh, but not now. Now, Tic was beyond mad. Tic had been very good at avoiding injuries during his visit to the lands of Ooo and Aaa. He always made sure to look where he was flying (even at extreme speeds). He always made sure to avoid situations he couldn't get himself out of. In fact, in all the weeks he had been there, Tic had only sustained about three serious injuries. Admidtedly, the first was his fault. Flying in a place as barren and dry as the Desert Kingdom always caused problems with his cloud. The other two, however, were the handiwork of the Dragon King. In one day, a day that was literally carved into his skull, he had managed to give Tic two concussions, along with a multitude of collateral injuries, among them the shrapnel created when he had "accidentally" destroyed the hospital Tic was at.

Yeah, Tic was just a little mad.

Unfortunately For the Dragon King, a little mad was all it took to set a storm elemental like Tic into a rage.

"Draaaaagon Kiiiiinnngggg….." His voice boomed, over powering even the thunder that crashed around him.  His skin was dangerously close to black, an obvious indication of his rage. Electricity crackled all around him, the sound of air exploding around him over powered the noise of the Dragon King's reaction. The Ice Queen, on the other hand, was not quite as fortunate.

"HOLYGLOBDAMMIT!!" *He released the Queen's hands, jumping up high despite his broken wings, leaving her scared and confused. She had no idea what was going on, what could possibly have frightened him so much. Sure, the figure on the cloud was intimidating, but not enough to scare the mighty King of Dragons. At least, she hoped so, despite the look of shear panic painted across his face. She watched, her hope fading with every moment his expression remained locked in terror. Then for a minute, everything was still. Time seemed to stop, paused in that gut-wrenching moment. Tic And the Dragon King held each other's gaze, pure anger crashing against the icy cold of fear.

In a second, everything went, for lack of a better term, straight to the Night-o-Sphere.  Tic flicked his wrist, sending an arc of electricity dangerously close to the couple. The Dragon King immediately snapped into overdrive, grabbing the Ice Queen's hand and dashing away as fast as he could, simply exclaiming, "RUN!". Tic followed after them continuing to toss lightning at them. The look in his eyes sent shivers down her spine. It was completely dark, inhuman….almost unnatural. It was enough to scare even the bravest of souls….but still, her Dragon King? Her Azeroth? Nothing seemed to scare him, and the fact that he seemed so terrified now only served to worry here deeper.

Azeroth, the Dragon King, wasn't exactly happy about the situation either. It hurt his pride to run from a fight, but he had to protect his Queen, at all costs. He had seen the damage Tic could cause when he was aggravated, and he wouldn't wish that on anyone, let alone the love of his extended life. Desperate, he spun and tossed back a few fireballs, hoping that the flaming projectiles would deter the Czar of Storms. Unsurprisingly, the Storm elemental dodged the flames with ease, the cloud easily out maneuvering the hasty shots. Tic raised his hand in response, energy building in his palm. Azeroth knew what he was about to do, and sped up in an attempt to save the Ice Queen from electrocution.

Ironically, it was Simona Petrikov that saved him. Azeroth's sudden increase and speed caused hire to trip on the hem of her long, ice-blue gown, sending them both tumbling to the ground, barely avoiding the ground-shattering bolt of lightning Tic had tossed in front of them. The King of Dragons instantly sprung to his feet, grabbing his fallen lover and holding her close, he desperate appreciation obvious.

In the midst of chaos, the Ice Queen relaxed involuntarily, sealed in the protective embrace of her loving knight. She always felt safe in his arms, no matter what the occasion was. Yet she was still worried, still concerned by the fact that her knight, her king, her greatest protector seemed scared. She just couldn't get over it, her fear escaping in a heavy and panicked sigh. Waiting for the raging Storm elemental to catch up to them, she clung to the Dragon king, trying to brace herself for the assault. Yet, ass her hope seemed to fade completely, she felt the same, calloused hand on her cheek. Surprised, she looked up, her gaze meeting eyes not full of fear, but rather ones filled with burning determination. Her heart fluttered in her icy chest: Her Knight was back in action.
